Remembering...

these shoes.

Remember how excited I was to wear them?  The update....

The wedding reception we attended was held at the California State Train Museum. Since Nolan was with us, this choice of a venue was sheer perfection. He was checking out trains all night.

But getting to the trains for crazedparent mama? Day-um. The floors were old-school wooden planks. Some had quarter-inch gaps. You know where this is going, don't you?

My sweet, sweet pointy, leopard print shoes have dainty, leather, pointy heels. And upon walking to said trains on said floors, my left heel got STUCK IN A GAP. After cursing in Spanish so Nolan wouldn't understand, I pulled my shoe out of the gap only to find the leather sliced. SLICED and PEELED. What ensued was pandemonium. I'm still recovering. The shoes will be fixed. But the memory, oooooooh the memory.

Then there's my ankles. Those cute little shoes inflicted blisters that appear like I took 20 cigarettes and tried to burn my ankles off. It's been more than a week and they still hurt.

In the name of post-partum beauty attempts, was wearing the shoes worth the mental and physical anguish?

HELL YEAH.
