The above artwork comes from a new discipline tactic with the Express. I went old school and made him write lines. For this particular offense, he served 30 minutes in a time out and had to write "I will listen to my mom" ten times. About midway through, he asked, "Mommy, I need your help. I'm tired of writing. Will you finish my lines?" Bingo. Evil genius.
Ever since I returned from BlogHer I've been struggling to find time to write. Perhaps it was the sheer exhaustion from traveling and late nights out with new and old friends. Perhaps it was the craziness that is dealing with summer vacation and being a working mom. Or perhaps I just didn't feel like writing. It's not that I don't have stories to tell, trust me, I do. Especially about my Summer of (Rick) Springfield weekend experience. And how I stayed at the same hotel as the man himself. Went on a search for a lost cat in the hotel (many mojitos involved). And. And. And. The stories. I truly am 35 going on 13. (Well, not really since a 13-year-old shouldn't be drinking mojitos.)
But I'm also a mom getting her son ready for kindergarten. And her toddler ready for preschool. And keeping her newly-trained puppy in check.
So for the next two weeks, until my little guys are fully immersed in their new worlds, I'm taking a little blog break. I will be back after August 22nd and likely will bore you with photos of Luna until then.
For now, check out this cool little blurb about crazedparent and some other Bay Area blogs, which appeared in the magazine, 7x7SF.
